Where To Eat
The most frequently asked question we get from folks weary from travel is, “Where’s a good place to eat?” So here are some choices.
Looking to sit down for a meal in Perry. You have options!
Huddle House
All day breakfast with amazing waffles plus lunch and dinner! They have great $6 specials, but you need to ask for the menu. Only 4.5 miles from the park.
Fusion Buffet Country & Chinese
I know the name is kind of weird but they do offer a wide selection of what they call “Western’ food along with the traditional Chinese menu. It’s quick and easy, all you can eat and the food is good! It is only 6 miles from the park.
C J Supreme Buffet
Your destination for fresh sushi, savory seafood, and mouthwatering Asian fusion favorites. It is located near Walmart, 6.4 miles from the park.
Jin Jin’s Chinese
A third choice for Chinese buffet located near Walmart, 6.1 miles.
Old Mexico
Authentic Mexican dishes. They have a great coffee bar with fresh danish, a salad bar with lots of fresh options in addition to a great menu. One of our favorite dining options and only 5.7 miles from the park.
Casa Grande Mexican Restaurant
A bit more of a drive, but another great option for those craving Mexican cuisine. Drive 6.9 miles from the park.
.
Martins Firepit BBQ & Steakhouse
Great BBQ, steaks and more. (Their pork steak is amazing and huge.) They have outside seating and sometimes karaoke. Only an 8.5 mile drive.
Mamma’s Italian Family Restaurant
A wonderful place to sit down in a warm atmosphere with tablecloths and be served traditional Italian cuisine. I always get the shrimp scampi and am never disappointed. This gem is only 6.2 miles from the park.
Cuccinella’s Brick Oven Pizzeria
A family run spot dishing up pizza options from Margherita to calzones, plus subs, wings, sandwiches and more. Their oatmeal cookies won the Cookie contest this year and are delicious. I particularly love their garlic and cinnamon knots. Only 6.9 miles from the park.
Backdoor Bistro & Coffeehouse
A quaint little cafe tucked in downtown serving breakfast, lunch and specialty coffee. They also serve fresh baked goods from Johnson’s Bakery. My go to is the chicken quesadilla (I love the chips) and their cucumber salad. You can eat inside or enjoy a beautiful day in their courtyard. A downtown venue only 6.9 miles away.
Johnson’s Bakery
This is the most famous spot in Perry. Since 1951, people come from all the surrounding areas for their “Delightfully Doughy Delicacies”. They also have a lunch menu with burgers and paninis. My favorites, glazed donut (of course), long john and thumbprint cookies. A stop here should be on your bucket list! And, they are located downtown only 6.9 miles away.
105 Cafe and Coffee
Build your own coffee here in this quaint little cafe in the old train station. They also have sandwiches, salads and wraps. They make a great Monte Cristo sandwich! They are only open for breakfast and lunch so plan your day accordingly. 6.9 miles away.
3 Nelsons Sandwich & Ice Cream Shop
Don’t let the outside fool you. It looks a little rough but the burgers, hot dogs and wraps are all good. They offer hand-dipped Blue Bell ice cream and milk shakes.
They are only 7.7 miles from our place.
Graves Drive-in
This place is a historic, family-owned hamburger restaurant known for its classic burgers, steak fries, chili dogs and slaw dogs, using the original recipes. Served in a retro-style diner it is only 8.7 miles away. I recommend the slaw dog and onion rings. (Being from Indiana, I never heard of slaw dogs until I moved here and they are goood!)
Nowhere Grill
This one is a bit of a drive but it’s the only place to eat if you’re traveling to the beach. Located on beach road 11 miles from the park it offers burgers and seafood with only outdoor seating. Reviews say they have a “chill vibe, good drinks, wings were great and dog friendly”
